Chinese Talent Acquisition Platform: Tailoring Global Success for Local Job Seekers

Recruitment Tool

By utilizing a user story map, we collaborated with the TA team to identify and define the key workflows. This approach provided the client with a comprehensive overview of the WeChat experience journey and aided in determining the essential components for the MVP journey.

To seamlessly integrate the new product with the existing job management system, we collaborated closely with both the development team and the business team. This collaboration enabled us to establish clear communication and gather the necessary requirements for building the integration effectively.

Johnson&Johnson expected to accelerate Talent Acquisition in China with localized tools.

The client's local Talent Acquisition (TA) team in China identified inefficiencies in the global recruitment tool, particularly for sales roles with flexible office locations. They sought enhanced flexibility and digitalization in the recruitment process for these positions.

We worked with the TA team in China to leverage the power of WeChat for the recruitment process. Through interviews with potential candidates, we designed a mobile-based recruitment and resume submission process using WeChat. Our solution catered to the client's needs by utilizing our expertise in WeChat and understanding of Chinese job seekers.

Map the new journey

Enhance transparency in the experience

During our research, we discovered that the lack of communication and transparency during the interview process leads to anxiety and uncertainty for candidates. Additionally, the TA team identified the importance of following up with hiring managers to obtain updated interview schedules and updates on candidate statuses.

Design for mobile behavior

During the interview with the TA team, we discovered that sharing job positions is a common and efficient practice. However, the traditional method of individually sending messages to each candidate was time-consuming. To address this, we created a job card with a clear information hierarchy, promoting sharing and saving actions. This allows candidates and TAs to quickly share positions on WeChat Moments, providing easy access for candidates to enter the application process.

Empower hiring managers in the new journey

In recognition of the importance of mobility for both candidates and hiring managers, we created the following-up product aimed at improving the interview scheduling process. This solution enables seamless synchronization of data with work emails and empowers hiring managers to efficiently respond to interview schedule requests.

With a practical approach, I initiated the design process by creating a user story map, which served as a foundation for identifying key flows and pages. I simultaneously addressed interaction and visual design to create a cohesive and intuitive user interface.
